Food Poisoning Parasite: Cryptosporidium Parvum
Cryptosporidium Parvum: This parasite organism is also a protozoon. This parasite causes a food poisoning ailment known as cryptosporidiosis. There are three types of cryptosporidiosis namely; tracheal, intestinal and pulmonary. The people living in large crowded area and the children are the easy targets to this parasite.
This parasite spreads through contaminated food and water. The food and water may get contaminated through an infected individual. The symptoms of cryptosporidiosis normally show up in an individual from two to seven days after he gets infected. The symptoms of this food poisoning ailment are as follows; dehydration, fever, weight loss, watery diarrhea, Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. The normal period throughout which the symptoms show up is about two weeks.
That individual will die because of severe watery diarrhea if left untreated. Hence, it is recommended to treat an affected individual immediately, though there is no effective medicine for this food poisoning ailment.
